In the two seasons since the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (a lengthy name acquired to avoid confusion with the University of Virginia, Virginia State University, or the Virginia Institute of Marine Science) joined the ACC, the Tar Heels have played them even for virtually two games. Alright…three practically even halves and one half that caused an estimated 4,281 televisions to be thrown off of balconies by angry Tar Heel fans.
