UNC's "Next Man Up" philosophy is being severely tested in 2017

“Next Man Up” is a Larry Fedora mantra built on competition and preparation. Players compete throughout spring ball and training camp for starting positions and then prepare throughout the season as if they won the job even if they lost. The intent is that when injuries occur, backups are able to fill the void with little decline in production. The mantra works for the random injury.
