ACC off-season basketball report

North Carolina surprised many observers with a strong run last season despite losing the top seven scorers from the 2005 national championship team. In fact, until falling victim to NCAA tournament darling George Mason in the second round, the Tar Heels appeared capable of making another run at a Final Four appearance in defense of their title. But if preseason pickers were low-balling the Tar Heels last year, they won't be this year.
