UVa escapes UNC with 20-14 victory after missed penalty call late

Virginia’s defense had to hold on for the victory. Kurt Benkert fumbled in the fourth quarter, the Cavaliers’ first lost fumble of the season, giving North Carolina one final shot. But on fourth-and-9 at the U.Va. 37-yard line, junior linebacker Chris Peace sacked – appearing to pull him down by his facemask. No call was made by the officials, and the penalty is not a reviewable one. (Richmond Times-Dispatch)
