UNC crossing guard gets cross-country trip thanks to students' generosity

For nine years, Joann, a crossing guard at UNC, has helped students get to and from class safely. But she never realized what an impact she was making until the community came together to help her fulfill a lifelong dream. "I'm at a loss for words. I just can't find the words to explain it. You know, they really care," Joann, who asked that her last name not be used, said Thursday.
