Cam Thomas did what most players cut from NFL teams do after the preseason. He stayed in shape and kept his cellphone handy. When the call came from the Kansas City Chiefs, Thomas was physically ready and happy to know that the team beckoning was a familiar one. Thomas was a fifth-round pick of the Chargers in 2010 after a four-year career at North Carolina.
