As Heat’s Wayne Ellington prepares for first Christmas as a father, his father is always on his mind

Christmas has never really been the same for Wayne Ellington since Nov. 9, 2014. That’s the day his father, Wayne Ellington Sr. was shot and found dead in the driver’s seat of his car near the family’s Philadelphia neighborhood. The mourning period included Christmas that year. “It was tough,” Ellington said looking back at the months following the death of his father.
