While UNC sustained a valiant comeback effort in the second half, the hole it dug in the first 20 minutes was ultimately too deep to overcome. Led by hot-shooting Kenny Williams, the Tar Heels scored efficiently in the first half. Their defense, however, struggled to get stops both inside and outside the arc.
