Notre Dame coach Mike Brey owes his job to Roy Williams. Brey, whose Fighting Irish host UNC Saturday, is in his eighteenth season at Notre Dame. In a sense, he owes a debt of gratitude to UNC’s coach. Had Williams taken the UNC job in 2000, Matt Doherty would have stayed at Notre Dame and who knows if Brey would have had the chance to coach the Irish.
