Welcome Home, Team!

An estimated 450 fans welcomed the Tar Heels back to Chapel Hill Tuesday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. The team received a police escort through campus and arrived at the stadium with sirens wailing. Fans lined Ridge Road near a side entrance to Boshamer, where the players entered. Team members expressed surprise at the large crowd. Players and Coach '78 spent more than an hour signing autographs and chatting with the crowd. (UNC General Alumni Association)
