Team still No. 1 to local fans

The trophy in team captain Jonathan Hovis' arms probably wasn't the one he'd hoped to be holding when he stepped off the bus, but the cheering crowd didn't seem to care. More than 400 fans greeted UNC's baseball team Tuesday afternoon as it returned to Boshamer Stadium following a second-place finish -- the team's best ever -- in the College World Series. The Carolina-blue clad crowd shouted chants of "Tar Heels" and waved pom poms as the team stepped off the bus. (Chapel Hill News)
