Local Lore: Hinton James
Posted Feb 3, 2018
Hinton James Hall is one of the three original student buildings at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The building, traditionally home to Carolina freshmen, houses almost a thousand students per semester. HoJo is more than just an old building with a bustling interior, however. Hinton James Hall is named for the first student to attend UNC, arriving in 1795.
