Sam Perkins Joins UNC Fundraising Boycott

Former UNC forward Sam Perkins has joined a protest by African American alumni, aiming to boycott UNC's $4.25 billion fundraising campaign. The protest is in response to a lack of action by University administrators to a "toxic racial climate.” The impetus of the boycott surrounds UNC's response, or lack thereof, to the 'Silent Sam' Confederate soldier statue.
