North Carolina must replace several key defensive players plus quarterback Matt Baker, but the Tar Heels possess enough talent and may finally have the right coaching staff in place to begin ascending instead of floundering in mediocrity. Carolina’s non-conference schedule offers it a chance at gaining confidence with three winnable home games and some national respect with a trip to Notre Dame in November.
