February 12, 2000 started as any other day would. With the NBA All-Star Weekend being held in Oakland, basketball stars, coaches and legends had descended upon the Bay Area. Few knew that the 2000 dunk contest would be perhaps the best performance of athletic ability in modern history. It started, and ended, with Vince Carter’s performance.
