Tar Heels secure highly-coveted RB from Matthews

North Carolina landed its most coveted power runner Friday when Ryan Houston, a 6-foot-2, 255-pound tailback from Matthews Butler High, verbally committed to play football for the Tar Heels. Houston, a rising senior, is rated the nation's No. 11 running back by Rivals.com and would fill a void left by Ronnie McGill's departure after the 2006 season. He picked the Heels over several schools that had offered scholarships, including N.C. State, Clemson, Tennessee, Florida and Miami.
