Idealists would prefer the end of the athletic scholarship. Go to a club system as in Europe, with academics sponsored by the Real Madrids and the Spartak Moscows. Or use a non-scholarship model and take whatever qualified athletes show up, as Carnegie Mellon and the U. of Chicago do. Back on Earth, there is an obvious compromise. Go to the free market. That would be the agents.
