UNC football recruiting breakdown: Kickers/Punters

The verbal commitment of Jay Wooten last month shut the door on UNC's recruiting efforts at place kicker for the Class of 2007. Wooten, the state's top returning place kicker, is regarded for his high, booming kickoffs, and his long range. He routinely converts kicks from 50 and 60 yards in practice, and as he continues to develop, he will work on refining his kicking style into a consistent stroke.
