A good bad ball hitter

Hillsborough is a long way from the Dominican Republic, but Orange County native and Carolina baseball player performs a lot like the shortstops who have made it to pro ball from that tiny Caribbean island. There is a saying among the Dominicans that one cannot walk off the island, so they are notoriously bad-ball hitters. The ones who make it in the big leagues not only swing at pitches out of the strike zone, they'll put them into play. The chief difference between the Dominicans and Horton is that Spanish isn't his native language. (Chapel Hill News)
