Fox hopes to keep hearing from old friend
Posted Jun 18, 2006
Jack Leggett and Mike Fox share more than an affinity for congratulatory phone calls -- they are two of the 10 men who have played in the College World Series and then returned to the event as head coaches. Their relationship dates back to the days when coaching in a major conference such as the ACC was a goal, not reality. Fox coached at N.C. Wesleyan from 1983-98, and Leggett spent five seasons as the head coach at Vermont and nine seasons at Western Carolina before taking over at Clemson in 1994.
