North Carolina and Kansas' 1993 Final Four matchup was the second postseason meeting between UNC coach Dean Smith and future Tar Heels coach Roy Williams, both of whom would go on to combine for 20 Final Four appearances and five national championships through the 2016-17 season. It was also a rematch of the 1991 Final Four game, which Kansas won 79-73.
