Tar Heels' Vikas Gowda wins discus title

North Carolina's Vikas Gowda won the men's discus at 198 feet, 8 inches on Friday at the NCAA track and field championships in Sacramento, Calif. Gowda was the runner-up in the event last year. Former Broughton star Jesse Williams of Southern California repeated as men's high jump champion with a personal-best leap of 7 feet, 7 1/4 inches.
