CH Regional notebook: Welcome back to the mound


After pitching eight innings to lead North Carolina past Winthrop, said the week and a half break he had in between starts might have affected his sharpness. It makes sense, but what then of fellow junior ? UNC coach said Monday that Bard pitched in a team scrimmage last Sunday, and the coach doesn't anticipate any problems today as Bard tries to get the Tar Heels to a super regional for the first time since 2003.
