Carolina Panthers claim running back Elijah Hood

A day after signing free agent running back C.J. Anderson, the Panthers on Tuesday added another downhill runner. Carolina hit the waiver wire to claim Elijah Hood, who was cut by the Raiders on Monday. The 5-foot-11, 230-pound Hood is a Charlotte native who racked up 147 touchdowns at Charlotte Catholic before playing three seasons at North Carolina.
