Heels regional in doubt
Posted May 25, 2006
Remember when I said last week that if Clemson held on to win the ACC in baseball, North Carolina might not get a regional in Chapel Hill? Well, I hate to say I told you so, but I think N.C. State beat me to the punch Wednesday. Clemson did hold on and UNC dropped its second egg in three weeks by losing to the seventh seeded Wolfpack in the ACC tournament in Jacksonville, Fla. Actually, losing just doesn't quite describe what happened to the Tar Heels. UNC lost to an N.C. State team that only won four of the last 13 games dating back to the regular season UNC sweep.
