The home stretch

The University of North Carolina fell from the No. 1 spot in national baseball rankings after losing two out of three at Virginia last weekend, but that really doesn't matter. Coach Mike Fox's Tar Heels, 41-11 overall, entered their regular-season wrap-up against Boston College still among the best in the nation. What really counts in the weeks that lay ahead, not just for UNC but for all the teams good enough to make the NCAA Tournament, is making a run at the College World Series.
