Fortunes change quickly for Tar Heels in 12-2 loss to Bulldogs
Posted Jun 19, 2018
UNC fell to Mississippi State 12-2 Tuesday, but the score doesn't tell the story of how well Austin Bergner pitched. At one point, he retired 16 straight Bulldogs. He struck out eight – only Alex White and Andrew Miller have ever whiffed more batters in a UNC uniform at the College World Series. ESPN analyst Kyle Peterson said “He looks like a big leaguer today.”
