One Pitch Overshadows Austin Bergner's Strong Outing

Every single play is amplified at the College World Series, certain ones more so than others. In North Carolina’s 12-2 loss to Mississippi State on Tuesday, it was a 1-2 pitch that changed the dynamic of the game and sent the Tar Heels to the losers bracket. Austin Bergner (7-3) was dominant from his first pitch, hitting 94 miles per hour with his fastball and controlling his off-speed pitches.
