One Pitch Overshadows Austin Bergner's Strong Outing
Posted Jun 19, 2018
Every single play is amplified at the College World Series, certain ones more so than others. In North Carolina’s 12-2 loss to Mississippi State on Tuesday, it was a 1-2 pitch that changed the dynamic of the game and sent the Tar Heels to the losers bracket. Austin Bergner (7-3) was dominant from his first pitch, hitting 94 miles per hour with his fastball and controlling his off-speed pitches.
