Minor League Notes: Brandon Riley puts on holiday show

A couple of players with area ties produced fireworks at the plate on the Fourth of July. Johnson City Cardinals outfielder Brandon Riley, a former North Carolina baseball standout went 3-for-3 plus three walks in an 11-2 romp at Bristol in the Appalachian League. The Burlington native was in the lead-off spot as his first multi-hit game came in his fifth professional game. (Burlington Times News)
