Just throw us a bone, we begged. Throw us a football that semi-matters. That’s all we wanted. As long as Mitch Trubisky was doing the throwing and doing it in a halfway meaningful environment, we didn’t care. It finally happened Thursday night, when after weeks and weeks of buildup, the new and hopefully improved Trubisky threw against a defense that wasn’t his own.
