In 2002, the state of North Carolina produced 51 signees on FBS teams. By 2017, there were over 100. Charlotte is the epicenter of college football recruiting in North Carolina. “We call Mallard Creek the Alabama of North Carolina,? West Charlotte coach Joshua Harris said. Look beyond Charlotte and you’ll see Bryce Love, who grew up in Wake Forest and is a Heisman candidate.
