North Carolina is 0-12 against major conference opponents to open the season since 1997. This is the year that this abysmal stat gets put to bed. For the most part, UNC controlled the game vs. Cal last year until a roughing the passer penalty changed the game’s momentum completely. From a talent perspective, UNC is a more complete team than the Golden Bears.
