Field Hockey Opens New Stadium, Olympic Sports Notes

The North Carolina field hockey team opened its new stadium Friday with a win over fifth-ranked Michigan, then beat Iowa in overtime Sunday. The women's soccer team hosted a pair of ranked opponents and emerged with a win over UCF and a tie against Texas. The men's soccer team allowed just one goal in a strong defensive weekend for Carlos Somoano's squad. (GoHeels.com)
