Former Olympian, UNC Student Aims to Promote Mental Health Among Athletes

Former world-class figure skater Rachael Flatt recently began pursuing her Ph.D. in clinical psychology on the Chapel Hill campus. Flatt, who calls her seventh place finish at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver the highlight of her athletic career, retired from figure skating in 2015. Now, she wants to use her studies to help ease the transition many athletes struggle with after leaving sports.
