Tar Heels in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics (August 4 Update)

11 of the 12 Tar Heels in Tokyo have begun competition. Only Camilla Feeley (Rhythmic Gymnastics) has not. and will play against Australia for the women's soccer bronze medal. The US baseball team lost to Japan in the winner's bracket. They then defeated Dominican Republic and are one win away from the gold medal game. (All Tar Heels)

UNC Gymnastics Adds to Coaching Staff

After being named Carolina’s head gymnastics coach in June, Danna Durante is beginning to fill out her coaching staff for the coming season. The gymnastics program announced yesterday it will bring back assistant coach Marie Denick, who spent the last 4 seasons on the UNC bench, as well as hire former All-American gymnast Amelia Hundley. Tar Heels in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics (July 31 Update)

The US women's soccer team ( and ) survived a thrilling quarterfinal match against the Netherlands, advancing 4-2 on penalty kicks. Rising North Carolina sophomore advanced to the 3-meter springboard diving final. The US women's rugby team (Naya Tapper) has completed competition and finished sixth. (All Tar Heels)

Tar Heels in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics (July 28 Update)

UNC is represented by 12 current students and alumni at the Tokyo Olympics. Seven of the 12 athletes have not yet begun competition. The five who have are women’s soccer players. On the positive side, (Great Britain), (USA), (USA), and Lotte Wubben-Moy (Great Britain) have advanced to the knockout rounds. (All Tar Heels)

UNC psychology student heads to Olympics as part of U.S. rhythmic gymnastics team

UNC sophomore Camilla Feeley is ending her rhythmic gymnastics career with a bang as a member of Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics. After dedicating 15 years to the sport, the 21-year-old will be hanging up her ribbons to focus on her academics in Chapel Hill, where she hopes to obtain a degree in psychology. UNC Names New Gymnastics, Women's Golf Coaches

Danna Durante, who led the University of Georgia to three Super Six appearances and is a 20-year college coaching veteran, is has been named the Tar Heels' new Gymnastics coach. Aimee Neff, a former associate head coach at North Carolina, is UNC's new Women's Golf coach. Neff spent the last three years as head coach at Florida Atlantic University. (GoHeels.com)

Elizabeth Culton Named EAGL Gymnast Of The Week

After a stand-out performance against William & Mary in the Tar Heels' final home gymnastics meet of the season, UNC sophomore earned her second EAGL award of the 2021 season. Seven Tar Heel Gymnasts Earn All-EAGL Awards

Seven UNC gymnasts were named to the All-EAGL teams after the conclusion of the regular season, the league announced Monday. , Drew Aldridge, Hallie Thompson, Emery Summey, Kate Greene, Brianna Greenlow, and Hannah Nam were each honored. UNC Athletics Welcoming Fans Back To Chapel Hill

We've missed having you at UNC sporting events this season. And we're pleased to tell you that beginning this weekend, we are able to welcome more of you back. Under NC Executive Order 195, outside stadiums will be allowed 30 percent capacity and indoor arenas with at least 5,000 seats will be allowed 15 percent capacity beginning Friday, Feb. 26.
