Pirates show heart, Tar Heels lose focus in rivalry game

Let’s get this out there: East Carolina and North Carolina are not very good football teams this year. I’d be surprised if either goes far beyond the 3-9 finishes they produced last season. But in the 18th chapter of the football series between the in-state rivals on a humid Saturday at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, one team showed a lot of heart while the other simply self-imploded.
