Carolina handles woeful Maryland
Posted Feb 27, 2006
North Carolina wasn’t sharp Sunday night. The Tar Heels missed 43 of the 73 shots they attempted, turned over the ball 17 times and just didn’t flow like the team that clobbered N.C. State on the road last Wednesday or had won seven of its last eight contests. But thanks to its defense, UNC beat Maryland 81-57 before a sellout crowd of 21,750 to improve to 19-6 overall and 10-4 in the ACC.
