Jace Ruder showed great touch on a pass to Carl Tucker, who made a defender miss and ran all the way to the 9-yard line for a 77-yard gain, the biggest gain of the day. Sam Howell threw a beautiful ball to Roscoe Johnson for a 42-yard touchdown to get the Tar Heels on the board. Storm Duck scooped up a fumble and ran it back 44 yards for a touchdown.
