North Carolina and Wake Forest first clashed on a football field in 1888. The Deacons and Tar Heels played every year from 1944-2004, are charter members of the ACC, and after two weeks rank among the league’s most impressive teams. So why in the name of Peahead Walker are these traditional rivals playing a NON-conference game Friday at Wake?
