Legendary UNC professor Gerald Unks passes away at 82

Dr. Gerald Unks, 82, distinguished and beloved UNC, School of Education professor, died November 9, 2019. In 45 years at UNC, he taught more than 24,000 students, received 13 teaching awards, including the Tanner Award twice, the Standard Oil award, the Amoco award, and 4 UNC Favorite Professor awards as voted by the student body and colleagues.
