NASCAR legend Junior Johnson dies at 88

American author Henry David Thoreau wrote in "Walden" that "the mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation." Junior Johnson, who died Friday at age 88, was not in that category. Johnson lived a wonderful life, one that didn't fit into a single niche. Johnson rose from humble roots in Wilkes County to become what Tom Wolfe called "The Last American Hero."
