Heels' season dies in Blacksburg

If Cedric Humes had North Carolina's bowl hopes on fumes, then Darryl Tapp made sure they were totally tapped. Humes led a relentless Virginia Tech running attack Saturday night at Lane Stadium. And Tapp spearheaded a second-half defensive effort that buried the Tar Heels under the weight of too many sacks, deflected passes and blocked kicks. The 30-3 loss left the Heels' season dead and buried. (Greensboro News & Record)
