Wasted: Heels gave away opportunity to go to a bowl

North Carolina spent two months climbing out of holes, two months overcoming odds and obstacles, two months turning a flawed football team into an unlikely bowl contender. Then, with visions of holiday vacations dancing in helmet heads and powder-blue patrons prancing in Kenan Stadium aisles, the Tar Heels threw away virtually everything in five wasteful minutes yesterday afternoon.
