Secretary of Health John Wiesman, a leader in Washington’s coronavirus response, to take job at UNC

Washington Secretary of Health John Wiesman, one of the state’s leaders during the coronavirus pandemic, has taken a faculty position with the University of North Carolina's Gillings School of Global Public Health. Wiesman made the decision in March, according to a spokeswoman for Gov. Jay Inslee. He will remain secretary of health through January 2021.
