Two-sport star Ronald Curry switched gears, picked UNC after dazzling career at Hampton High

As we wait for sports to return, we’re looking back at some of our favorite stories, this one from March 25, 1998. Ronald Curry averaged 4.2 points in 54 basketball games at UNC and in football was a two-time bowl-game MVP as the Tar Heels’ quarterback. A wide receiver for seven seasons in the NFL, Curry is now receivers coach for the New Orleans Saints.
