While the core of UNC's 2006-07 team was still two years away from winning a national championship, it took sizable steps in that direction in 2007. A terrific sophomore class that included Tyler Hansbrough and the top recruiting class in the nation that included Ty Lawson, Wayne Ellington, and Brandan Wright, combined to win 31 games and advance to the Elite 8.
