UNC trying to get extra year for Chacos
Posted Nov 3, 2005
North Carolina coach John Bunting is hoping to secure another season of eligibility for offensive lineman Brian Chacos, who is a fifth-year senior. Chacos had an appendectomy his freshman season and didn't play, then was sidelined his sophomore year because of knee surgery. "We've had discussions with Brian and his parents about a sixth year,'' Bunting said. "It's certainly something I think he deserves. [But] it's a long, long process. It's just beginning. A lot of documentation has to be done."
