McGill pumps up UNC
Posted Oct 26, 2005
North Carolina tailback Ronnie McGill will be reluctant to put away his sling even after he doesn't need it anymore. On Saturday, in his second game back from a torn chest muscle that caused him to miss four games, McGill rushed for 118 yards on 23 carries in a 7-5 victory against Virginia. That has nothing to do with the sling, which prevents McGill from extending his left arm back and straining his still-healing left pectoral muscle. McGill is becoming superstitious about the sling anyway.
