Tar Heels defense stymies Virginia

Ronnie McGill rushed for 118 yards on 23 carries and North Carolina's defense put together its best performance of the season as the Tar Heels upended No. 23 Virginia 7-5 at Kenan Stadium. North Carolina (3-3, 2-1 ACC), which was torched for 69 points two weeks ago at Louisville, held the Cavaliers to 199 total yards to help stop a three-game losing streak in the longtime series.
