Tommy Thigpen, UNC’s co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach, said Chazz Surratt initiated the change from quarterback to linebacker without any push from the coaches. "It was definitely him, he was of course a quarterback all his life," Thigpen said. "I was like, ‘If you come over here, we’re probably going to have to change your lifestyle.’"
